A Taste of Tanglewood Comes to the Bronx
Kittay House continues a tradition of execllence in cultural programs.
On Friday, June 26, tenants were mesmerized by a unique harp concert performed by a very talented 14-year-old! En route to her summer study at Tanglewood, Hannah Young, the cousin of Kittay tenant Jerry Siskin, made a stop at Kittay's Fox Auditorium. This accomplished young lady presented a classical program that included works by composers Dussek, Handel and Salzedo.

Newly Minted Kittay Poets Published
In a celebration of the five-week poetry workshop at Kittay House, as highlighted in the June e-Bulletin, a publication party was attended by tenants, friends and family on June 17. The presentation of inspiring readings of poems and prose offered a beautiful window into the souls and spirits of the workshop members.
Remarks workshop participant Mort Nelkin, "I thought it was a wonderful experience... it was) great to see people learn how to express themselves through poetry. It helps bring out their inner feelings and increases their use of words."

Kittay Tenants Pass the Gift of Education to 17 Bronx Youth
Bronx high school students are gaining first-hand experience and training in medicine, while learning from Kittay House "elder mentors."
The Geriatric Career Development (GCD) Program reaches and challenges students on every level - professional, academic and personal - giving them not only a rigorous and inspiring head start on a career in nursing and medicine, but a meaningful experience to help them gain compassion, understanding and perspective.
On June 16, the Fellowship Achievement Award Dinner honored the first GCD graduates, as well as the elders who helped them on their way.
