Homegrown Talent – May 12-26 Photography Exhibition
When you work the overnight shift, you’re the man behind the scenes. The gift of blending in with the background while possessing insightful observation is treasured by security guards and talented photographers, alike.
John O’Grady straddles both worlds and from May 12 to 26, they will overlap as his photography adorns his workplace by way of a one person show. On the job for 32 years as a Kittay House security guard, John’s keen eye and knowledge of tenant personalities and habits often leads him to the front line in determining whether a situation is an emergency or a time to reassure. His discriminating presence gives piece of mind to both residents and management.
The exhibition will feature NYC-based imagery of landscapes and manipulated still life photography, work he completed over the last 12 months. His work can be seen in Germany, Ireland, Norway, England and across the United States. A portion of the exhibition sales will be donated to Kittay House.
