Kittay Staffer by Day; Thespian by Night
Sixteen Kittay House folks and Jewish Home Lifecare staff members headed to Theater 3 in New York City to support and cheer Maayan Schneider, a cast member of Measure by Measure, a limited-run, Off-Broadway production of Shakespeare’s dark-comedy. Maayan is also one of three marketing managers at Kittay House.
Tenant Arthur Heimlich remarked, "It was wonderful to see Maayan on stage. Her acting was superb! She really brought her character (the Provost) to life. Also, the play's themes were timely since they were about political scandals and intrigue." Heimlich was mighty impressed that the tenants were given front-row seats so they wouldn’t miss a thing.
Maayan, in turn, appreciated how the quick-minded Kittay House group was often the first to pick up the production’s many jokes. Her fellow actors were elated by the thunderous applause generated from the Kittay theater-goers.
Maayan’s outside acting pursuits and professional contacts in the performing arts enable her to secure unusual and stimulating entertainment, such as the JARADOA group, which now provides the Kittay community with wonderful “radio plays” throughout the year.
