Avoiding Adverse Food and Drug Interactions

Medications often have side effects. Some drugs cause loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting or dry mouth. You may need to avoid certain foods while taking a drug to allow it to work properly. If you have concerns about a medication, or if you think a medicine you are taking is causing problems, tell your doctor.

Antibiotics. May cause diarrhea, abdominal discomfort, loss of appetite.

Pain Medications. May cause constipation.
