June is a time for graduation and, for Jewish Home Lifecare’s Geriatric Career Development Program (GCD) the most important one involves 57 high school students from Manhattan and the Bronx.

They were recognized for fulfilling their participation in the intensive three-year program that helps students develop career paths in healthcare. An astounding 96% of the GCD students will be entering college this fall.

Inspired by keynote speaker and self-made millionaire Andrew Morrison, founder of Small Business Camp and COO of Mentoring in Medicine, who shared the importance of focusing their energies and efforts and always staying positive, the graduates are eagerly looking forward to making an impact in their communities.

According to a journal entry by Sabrina Brown, DeWitt Clinton HS, Bronx, “Because of GCD, I have learned to be patient and a better listener. I am better prepared to take the leap in the health field…GCD has given me a head start and the best advice I could ever get along with a few extra resources that I can always count on.”
