Jews believe that there are many characteristics of God:
- God gave the Torah to Moses and the Jewish people at Sinai.
- God created order out of chaos in the beginning of Genesis in order to form the world.
- God redeemed the Israelites from slavery in Egypt.
- God is at the center of Jewish prayer.
- We are all God’s children as we are all descended from the first parents, Adam and Eve.
- We are created in God’s image. Each person has a spark of Divinity in us.
- God gave us free will.
- God made an eternal covenant with Abraham and Sarah to bring us into the land of Israel.
- God gave us the Sabbath, the Holidays and Laws to order our lives.
- Every person needs to understand past beliefs and theologies about God and then resting on the traditional beliefs try to come to our own understanding of God.
- Many Jews do not spell out the name of G-d.
