Thankfully, Jewish Home Lifecare was minimally affected by Hurricane Irene. There were minor water leaks in places, but these have been dealt with and did not affect patient or resident care. The Sarah Neuman Westchester campus lost power, but the emergency generator is functioning properly, allowing the facility to operate with minimal disruption.

Staff were on hand on all campuses to maintain patient care at a normal level and to continue recreational programming and other activities.

Adult Day Programs were closed on Sunday, but will re-open for clients at noon on Monday.

Jewish Home Lifecare declared a Staff Adverse Weather Emergency beginning on Friday. This Staff Adverse Weather Emergency continues in effect until Tuesday, August 30th at 7:00 a.m.

Jewish Home Lifecare is grateful to our dedicated staff who put the needs of patients and residents first, worked hard to get to work under adverse conditions and delivered care with the same compassion, professionalism and dedication that they show every day.
