On November 29th, Jewish Home Lifecare’s Manhattan campus held its first Green Fair to help educate staff and residents about how to lead more sustainable lives and better protect the environment.

Approximately 150 people participated in the event which featured hands-on demonstrations from local vendors in the energy conservation, waste management, transportation and sustainable food industries.

In addition to learning how to properly recycle, attendees received tips on conserving electricity and strategies for reducing air pollution. They also learned about the Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) opportunities in NYC and well as the benefits of locally grown food. One vendor handed out pamphlets about the farms from which Jewish Home gets all its locally grown produce.

With 18 participating vendors from various industries, there was no shortage of information on how to be more green.
