The portraits of eight Sarah Neuman residents who are centenarians were unveiled at a recent dedication ceremony held on our Westchester campus.

The portraits are on permanent display in the Sally Froelich Winter Garden. More portraits will be added soon, when two more clients in the Adult Day program celebrate their 100th birthdays.

Residents and their families, trustees and staff all attended the recent dedication of the portraits at Sarah Neuman Center for Healthcare and Rehabilitation.

Following the dedication and festivities, family members and trustees attended the annual Friends of Sarah Neuman dinner. Friends of Sarah Neuman is an auxiliary that provides birthday parties for the centenarians, as well as luncheons, shopping trips, friendly visits, art carts, choral groups and other activities designed to enrich the lives of residents and patients at the 300-bed nursing home and rehabilitation center in Mamaroneck.

Ed Miller, a member of the Friends auxiliary, entertained the dinner guests with his video, “Come Fly With Me.” Miller is a frequent visitor with residents in long term care; his round-the-world videos are a frequently-requested form of entertainment.
