New Trustees Join Jewish Home Lifecare’s Bronx Division

Samantha Gordon, William D. Kummel and Cheryl G. Fried Join Jewish Home Lifecare’s Board of Trustees

Jewish Home Lifecare proudly announces the addition of three new members to the Board of Trustees at the 816- bed nursing home and rehabilitation center on Kingsbridge Road in the Bronx.  The five-acre campus of the Bronx Division includes Kittay House, a 300-apartment complex offering independent living with services for seniors, two HUD 202 senior residences, as well as plans to add a 68-bed Medicaid assisted living facility funded by a $26.3 million Heal Grant from the New York State Department of Health and the Dormitory Authority of New York  State.  A third HUD housing complex in Riverdale is also owned and operated by the Bronx Division under the  supervision of the Board of Trustees and Administrator Rita Morgan. The Bronx Division employs 1288 and 783 live in the Bronx.

New trustees are:

Samantha Gordon of Manhattan, whose strong background includes experience in marketing and strategic planning in both the health care and financial services industries.  Ms. Gordon is senior marketing manager for Deloitte’s Health Care Providers Sector.  She is a graduate of Columbia Business School with a Master’s in Business Administration and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

William D. Kummel of Manhattan has strong  professional experience in logistics and marketing, and has served as chief operating officer at the New York Sun where he was responsible for business operations including circulation, advertising, marketing, finance and administration.  He earned a Juris Doctor degree from Georgetown University School of Law, a Master’s of Business Administration from Georgetown University and a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from Yale University.

Cheryl G. Fried of Manhattan joins the Bronx Board with an extensive background in medical technology and health care law.  She is Assistant General Counsel at C. R. Bard, Inc., a publicly traded medical device company specializing in vascular, urology, oncology and surgical specialty products.  Her legal specialties include mergers and acquisitions, commercial transactions and clinical affairs.  Cheryl earned a Juris Doctor degree from New York University School of Law, a Master of Arts in Psychology from Boston University and a Bachelor of Science in Physiology from McGill University, Montreal, Quebec.
