Recognizing Our Volunteers

Volunteers Luncheon

Jewish Home Lifecare’s Manhattan Division held a recognition luncheon for our volunteers, who in 2007 donated a total of 78,000 hours to the residents living and engaged in rehabilitation at the nursing home and rehabilitation center on 106th Street.

Volunteer Pearl Treasure was specially recognized for her contribution of 6026 hours in 2007.

More than 300 volunteers – men and women of all ages – contributed their time and talents in a wide variety of ways including visiting residents, transporting them to activities and appointments, providing musical and other forms of entertainment, meeting their spiritual needs, and serving as ombudsmen and with Hospice care.

Administrator Judy Nicholson thanked the volunteers for their extraordinary and heartfelt dedication to the residents.

Espi Garcia, Director of Volunteers and Joy Haas, Director of Community Relations, hosted the event. All the volunteers in attendance went home with gifts, including a hemp shopping bag in recognition of Jewish Home Lifecare’s commitment to environmental responsibility.
