Post Acute and Rehabilitative Services Emphasized with New Appointment

Post acute and rehabilitative care is becoming increasingly important in the health care landscape.  In order to provide the best possible rehabilitative care in the New York area, Jewish Home Lifecare created a new position, Vice President of Post Acute Services, and appointed Marie Rosenthal to fill that role.

Post acute services address the medical and emotional needs of elders who are well enough to be out of a traditional hospital setting, but not well enough to return home. Key to this is providing so-called coordinated care; elders often have multiple conditions that need to be treated, and providing care in the appropriate setting, with an understanding of how conditions interact, contributes to better rehabilitation and recovery.

“In today’s changing world of healthcare, there is a greater need to develop more efficient systems to care for patients after they leave the hospital,” says Marie Rosenthal. “Jewish Home Lifecare is taking its post-acute services to the next level to insure better patient outcomes.”

In her new role, Marie will be responsible for organizing, developing and directing the overall operations of Jewish Home Lifecare’s post acute care services in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations.  She will be delegating the administrative authority, responsibility and accountability for post acute care services for the system.

Prior to this role, Marie Rosenthal served as the Assistant Administrator, Resident and Clinical Services for Jewish Home Lifecare’s Manhattan Campus.
