The winter season of live broadcasts from the 92Y begin at Kittay House Senior Apartments on Tuesday, January 17 at 8 P.M. with an extraordinary concert of music primarily played and written in the Terezin concentration camp. The Nash Ensemble of London—Stephanie Gonley, Laura Samuel, Lawrence Power, and Paul Watkins — will be performing with Wolfgang Holzmair and Russell Ryan.
The concert is part of: Will to Create, Will to Live: The Music of Terezín—a dynamic interdisciplinary series that reveals the significance of Terezín in which, despite Nazi terror, great art, music and educational activity flourished.
The 92nd Street Y comes to Kittay House via live broadcasts made possible by the Joan Jacobson 92nd Street Y Satellite Program Fund. Through this special arrangement, Kittay tenants experience these intellectually and culturally stimulating programs without having to leave home. These lectures are also broadcast on Jewish Home Lifecare’s closed-circuit television station, Channel 40. Residents and visitors can enjoy the programs on in-room televisions and in common areas.
