Friends and Relatives Host CNA Appreciation Day in the Bronx

 While Nurses Aides often spend the most time with elderly nursing home residents, the scope of their work is not always appreciated.  The Friends and Relatives Committee decided to change that with CNA Appreciation Day. 

Certificates of Appreciation – along with heartfelt gratitude – were presented at a festive gathering.  One CNA expressed that it made her proud to come to work, while another said of her certificate, “I can’t wait to show my daughter.”

Donna Peoples, who originated the idea, reports that CNA Appreciation Day was also a moving experience for the organizers, who had an opportunity to express thanks on behalf of their elderly relatives.
