Friends of Sarah Neuman Help Resident Celebrate 100 Years

Anne Murray’s 100th Birthday Party

Anna Murray celebrated her 100th birthday recently surrounded by family and friends at Jewish Home Lifecare Sarah Neuman Center in Mamaroneck. Ms. Murray has been a resident of the 300-bed nursing home and rehabilitation center for 14 years.

Previously, a long time resident of Mamaroneck, Ms. Murray was born January 16, 1911 in Pennsylvania. She is one of six siblings born to Concella and Antonio Vitetta.
In 1943 she married Alfred Murray and was widowed 19 months later when he succumbed to tuberculosis. Ms. Murray never remarried and has no children. Many of her nieces and nephews were on hand for the celebration.

The party was sponsored by Friends of Sarah Neuman, an auxiliary dedicated to enriching the lives of the nursing home residents and patients in short-term subacute rehabilitation. In addition to centenarian birthday parties, Friends provide day trips to local restaurants and shops, cooking classes, tea parties, concerts and more.
