Gift of Energy Efficient Lightbulbs Saves Environment and Dollars At Jewish Home Lifecare Sarah Neuman Center

A gift of $10,000 worth of energy efficient lightbulbs from Consolidated Edison, designed to reduce the energy load in lower Manhattan and Westchester County, will save 31 percent of energy costs for Jewish Home Lifecare Sarah Neuman Center, a 300-bed nursing home and rehabilitation center in Mamaroneck.

The gift was delivered by Anthony Izzo, vice president of Tri State Energy Efficiency, a contractor for Comverge, a company contracted with Consolidated Edison to implement this targeted load reduction program.

Savings during the first year have been estimated at 66,500 pounds less carbon released in the atmosphere and $11,000 in energy costs.  Jeffrey Phillips, director of Plant Operations at Sarah Neuman, is investigating other cost savings program through Consolidated Edison as part of Jewish Home Lifecare’s Environmental Initiatives program.
