Making the transition from hospital to subacute care can be difficult. Below, find answers to some of the common questions asked by our subacute patients.
Can I have the newspaper delivered?

What are visiting hours?
Regular visiting hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. in Manhattan and the Bronx. In Westchester, they are from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. However, this is flexible. Just let your nurse know if you are expecting visitors during other times. For security purposes all visitors must obtain a visitor pass from lobby security desk upon entering the building.
How do I use my telephone?
You are able to use your phone for local calls to the following area codes:
212, 516, 718, 347, 646, 914. Simply dial 9 +1 followed by the telephone number you wish to reach. There is a small charge per day for phone use.
How do I get cable?
Your television is programmed for cable TV. If you would like to have cable, we can arrange it for you. Fees for cable TV vary by campus.
Can I have the newspaper delivered?
Local newspapers are delivered daily to the unit for use by all patients. Arrangements can be made to have a personal copy delivered, as well.
Can I bring my own food?
Your dietician will determine your specific food preferences and assist in planning your menu. There is a refrigerator, freezer and microwave on the unit for your use.
Where are my meals served?
All meal selections are based on personal preference and dietary restrictions. Depending on the campus where you are being treated, you may dine in a community dining room and/or in your room. There are also cafés at each campus, and a cafeteria is available at our Bronx and Manhattan campuses.
What type of laundry services are provided?
Personal laundry services are available. If your laundry is being sent home, please inform staff.
Is there computer or internet access available?
Portable wireless internet connection is available in some locations. Please speak to your unit manager for further details.
Where can I find information on other available services?
When you are admitted, you will receive a “Welcome Packet.” It will include information on all services provided.
