Meeting Schedule

Generally meetings are held about every 6 weeks. For a proposal to be reviewed at a full board meeting, proposal materials must be submitted to the IRB Secretary 1 week prior to next IRB meeting date.

Meetings will be video-conferenced between sites on the following Tuesday’s from 3-5 pm.

The video-conference will take place in the Sarah Neuman Administrative Conference Room, Bronx Greenwall Conference Room, and the Manhattan Board Room.

Expedited Review

We do offer expedited review for studies that fall under the appropriate categories determined by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. However, meeting the qualifications of these categories does not guarantee expedited review.

In addition, investigators should note that the expedited review process may not necessarily be faster than a full board review. Delegated IRB members have up to 2 weeks to review initial proposal materials and request changes.

In some cases, if there are pervasive problems or changes to be made to the proposal documents, the IRB may request a full board review OR delegated IRB members are allocated an additional 2 weeks to review amended proposal materials.

Please note that if you are an external investigator, you must submit your proposal for Pre-IRB review, and one should allocate about 2 weeks for this process to be complete.
